Building a Remote Powerhouse

At Superthread, we are building the fastest, most delightful issue tracker on the market. But to build a world-class product with a distributed team, we rely on a specific stack of tools that allow us to move as fast as a hummingbird.

Today, I want to talk about three products that stand out in our daily operations: Figma, Miro, and OysterHR.

1. Figma: The Multiplayer Design Revolution

Before Figma, we had Photoshop and Illustrator. Those tools were expensive, hard to learn, and terrible for UI/UX flows. Then came Sketch, which was much more intuitive, but it was a ‘single-player’ game. If I wanted to review a design, I had to hover over the designer’s shoulder or deal with flaky screen sharing.

Figma changed everything by making design multiplayer.

2. Miro: Turning Workflow Diagrams into Reality

Miro is our go-to for diagramming. Like Figma, it is a multiplayer tool where you can see everyone’s cursors moving across the board. You can even embed video directly into the diagram so everyone is ‘present’ during a brainstorm.

The Power of Workflows: I used to treat diagramming as an afterthought, but now we have precise diagrams for every single scenario inside Superthread. This clarity makes life infinitely easier for our programmers and designers. I highly recommend investing time in workflow diagrams; they are the blueprint of your app.

3. OysterHR: Solving the Global Talent Puzzle

In a post-COVID world, global talent is available to everyone. However, employing someone in a different country is a legal and tax nightmare. You don’t want to get in trouble with local authorities or spend months learning foreign labor laws.

OysterHR acts as an ‘Employer of Record’ (EOR):

Conclusion

These three tools allow us to operate without borders and without friction. They don’t just provide a service; they provide a better way to work collaboratively.

I’d love to hear from you: What are your standout products? What tools do you use on a daily basis that you simply can’t live without?

Experience a workspace designed for high-performance teams.

Superthread is built on the same principles of speed and collaboration as the tools mentioned above. Manage your tasks and docs in one lightning-fast platform.
